Personal data and privacy

This site sets no cookie, installs no tracker and does not measure its audience: none of its responses sets a cookie, and every resource it loads — style sheets, fonts, images, scripts — comes from its own domain alone. Two places invite you to write — the closing of the home page and the Contact page — and they do the same thing: they transmit to us what you write in them, and nothing else. The information due under article 13 is served to you beneath the fields, in both cases, at the moment you write.

Two processing operations are involved, and two only: this site does not measure its audience. First, the server’s technical logs — IP address, timestamp, resource requested, response code — kept for the security of the site and for operational diagnosis; legal basis: the controller’s legitimate interest in preserving the integrity and availability of its service (article 6(1)(f) of the Regulation). Second, the correspondence you address to us — whether through the form on the Contact page, whose submissions are recorded in the publisher’s register of enquiries, or directly to the contact address — namely your identity, your email address, your position where given, the group you represent, the number of its properties and the content of your message, processed for the sole purposes of answering you and, where appropriate, conducting the pre-contractual exchanges it calls for; legal basis: the same legitimate interest in handling a request addressed to us. Writing to us is required neither by law nor by contract: refraining from it has the sole consequence that we shall be unable to reply.

Recipients. — Within the company, only those persons in charge of the reply. Outside the company, two providers. First Supabase, Inc., the processor hosting the register in which the form’s submissions are recorded, on an instance located in the European Union, in Paris. Then the site’s host. Cloudflare, Inc. does not confine itself to producing and retaining the technical logs: it operates the infrastructure through which every request addressed to this site passes. The extent of what it receives, and of what it retains of it, as well as its qualification under the Regulation — processor acting on our instructions within the meaning of articles 4(8) and 28, or controller on its own account — turn on the hosting contract. No qualification is asserted before its reading. Both companies are established in the United States: access to this data from a third country cannot therefore be excluded, and these operations entail a transfer outside the European Union. The instrument framing them under chapter V of the Regulation — standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision — is not established to date; should it be established, a copy of it shall be provided upon written request to the contact address given on the Contact page (article 13(1)(f) of the Regulation). No data is sold, rented or passed to a third party for prospecting purposes. No automated decision-making and no profiling is carried out.

Retention periods. — The host’s technical logs are kept for six months from their creation, then deleted. The correspondence you address to us — your message, your address and the exchanges that follow from it — is kept for three years from the last exchange, then deleted. None of this data is kept beyond those periods.

You have a right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction over this data, as well as a right to portability (articles 15 to 20 of the Regulation). These rights are exercised at the contact address given on the Contact page; should reasonable doubt arise as to your identity, you may be asked to establish it.

Right to object. — You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to both processing operations described above, each of which rests on the controller’s legitimate interest (article 21(1) of the Regulation). This right is brought to your attention here separately from any other information, as article 21(4) requires. It is exercised at the same contact address; it will be given effect unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds overriding your interests, rights and freedoms.
